Submit a Project

  1. 1.Submit a project proposal before starting work

    The start date of a retrofit project is either

    • The date on which the equipment is first ordered (purchase order or invoice showing date ordered) for energy efficiency measures

      or

    • The date on which the first expense is incurred (first contract signed) to have work done on eligible energy efficiency measures
  2. 2.Submit a measurement plan
  3. 3.Take “before” measurements
  4. 4.Start up the equipment and write the start-up report
  5. 5.Take “after” measurements

Financial assistance

There are two caps on financial assistance, depending on project size.

The smallest of these amounts:

  • 20¢/kWh
  • 75% of total eligible costs
  • Amount required to reduce payback period to 1 year, when costs are recouped solely through eligible electricity savings
  • Maximum per project: $1 million

The smallest of these amounts:

  • 15¢/kWh
  • 75% of total eligible costs
  • Amount required to reduce payback period to 2 years, when costs are recouped solely through eligible electricity savings
  • Maximum per project: $5 million

The smallest of these amounts:

  • 30¢/kWh
  • 75 % des coûts totaux admissibles
  • Amount required to reduce payback period to 1 year, when costs are recouped solely through eligible electricity savings
  • Maximum per project: $0.5 million

The smallest of these amounts:

  • 25¢/kWh
  • 75% of total eligible costs
  • Amount required to reduce payback period to 2 years, when costs are recouped solely through eligible electricity savings
  • Maximum per project: $1.5 million

Eligibility

Eligible customers

  • Any individual or corporation that owns, operates or occupies an industrial building in Québec associated with a goods-producing industry. Customers of municipal utilities and off-grid systems are also eligible.

Eligible projects

  • Any project that aims to cut electricity consumption by at least 25,000 kWh per year, with a payback period of 1 to 10 years, when costs are recouped solely through eligible electricity savings.
