The spillway is used to discharge excess water from the reservoir. It is a concrete structure equipped
with three gates that can be opened if necessary. The spillway is located on the right bank of the river, at the
Eastmain-1 dam site. It includes a headrace curving in toward the dam, a concrete structure with three 12.2-m openings, and a
rectilinear, sloping outlet channel leading to a stilling basin.
