Work area: Margins of the reservoir and of the Eastmain River between the dam and Opinaca reservoir

Around Eastmain 1 reservoir, we will set up 10 osprey nesting platforms.

Setting up platforms

The creation of Eastmain 1 reservoir will lead to the loss of nesting sites. However, the newly created or modified bodies of water will have good potential for feeding ospreys. At the La Grande complex, some osprey platforms were used the very first year they were set up.
