Our actions   Our reasons for acting
Work area: Eastmain 1 reservoir

In some portions of the traplines affected by the Eastmain 1 reservoir, we will carry out intensive trapping of about 315 beavers (average of 3.5 individuals in 90 colonies).

Trapping a beaver

It is necessary to retrieve the resource to avoid losing it during impoundment of the reservoir.

Holding cage for the beavers
before their relocation

We will relocate about 112 beavers (average of 3.5 beavers per colony).

Capturing a beaver for relocation

We will therefore be able to foster reproduction of beavers affected by impoundment of the Eastmain 1 reservoir.
