OUR MAJOR PROJECTS AND JOBSITES

As project managers, we work with professional services companies, general contractors and equipment manufacturers to build, modernize and refurbish power generation and transmission facilities of all sizes. These projects are carried out throughout Québec, in urban and rural areas and remote locations.

OUR MAJOR PROJECTS

With the Romaine complex in the Basse-Côte-Nord region, we undertook Canada's largest active construction project. The first step in this $6.5-billion initiative is the construction of Romaine-2 generating station — the first of four stations to be built on the river, with a combined capacity of 1,550 MW.

To link the project to our vast transmission system, 500 km of transmission lines will be built over the next few years.

The peak period for the project, which got under way in 2009 and will be completed in 2020, is between 2012 and 2016. For more information, visit our Romaine project Web site (in French).

Life on the jobsite in remote areas
We build camps — some of which can accommodate over 2,000 workers — for projects in remote areas, far from major urban centres. These camps offer all of the services needed to create a pleasant living environment: cafeteria, private rooms, recreational centres, playing fields, winter skating rinks and, of course, breathtaking natural environments for everyone's favourite outdoor activities.

OUR CONSTRUCTION SITES

We have a number of construction sites in various parts of Québec, near urban centres. Over 70 generating station and hydraulic structure refurbishment projects are currently under way in the Côte-Nord, Mauricie, Abitibi-Témiscamingue, Outaouais and Montréal regions.

We are also carrying out over 1,000 power transmission projects for a total activity volume of about $1 billion. These projects of varying scale are under way throughout Québec — especially near urban centres — and involve transmission lines as well as substations and protection systems.
