Eligibility

Image: Eligibility
The Program is open to any corporation, partnership or organization that has at least one service contract at large-power rates and operates one or more industrial sites.

Since the financial assistance budget is limited, available funds will be allocated to eligible projects on a first-come, first-served basis.

The aim of an energy analysis is to identify opportunities to improve the energy efficiency of an industrial site. An analysis should:

  • Cover overall use of all forms of energy at the industrial site
  • Make management and employees more aware of energy efficiency and encourage them to apply the recommended electricity management measures
  • Set out a comprehensive vision of energy efficiency
  • Include a written report
  • Include an implementation plan for the recommended measures

The purpose of a demonstration project is to establish the energy efficiency of a new technology with excellent potential to reduce specific electricity consumption (per unit produced), with the goal of disseminating the results and encouraging adoption of the technology by the industry.

The technology being demonstrated must meet the following criteria:

  • Commercially available
  • Payback period of less than 10 years, based solely on the energy savings
  • Not used in Québec because it is associated with certain risks or unknown
