The Conversion to Electricity Program provides financial assistance for projects designed to replace equipment that uses an eligible fossil fuel with electrical equipment in commercial, institutional or industrial buildings.
The procedure and Program terms and conditions in effect as of March 31, 2017 will apply to all new projects.
Before applying under the Program, we suggest that you read the following documents.
You must fill out the Letter of intent part of the form, making sure to check the box Je confirme ma déclaration [I confirm the accuracy of my declaration], at the end of the form and click on the Soumettre [submit] button.
It is your responsibility to check with Hydro-Québec to ensure that its electrical installation is able to supply power to the new electrical equipment covered by the project. If any modifications are to be made to the power system, you may request an estimate of the time frame for work to be carried out. For more information, you can send any questions to VPCConversionalelectricite@hydro.qc.ca.
At this stage, no other documents are required.
At the end of work, with the external project technical manager, you must:
Click on the Soumettre button at the end of the form to submit the confirmation of project completion.
You must also submit the required documents, according to the calculation method selected.
Send your complete application to Hydro-Québec, at VPCConversionalelectricite@hydro.qc.ca.Note: Make sure the new electrical equipment is installed and in good working order before sending in the Confirmation de la réalisation du projet [confirmation of project completion] section.
Hydro-Québec’s technical team will contact you if necessary to explain how to submit the required documents. Hydro-Québec reserves the right to reject non-probative supporting documents.
In addition to the documents listed in the program requirements, Hydro-Québec may request any other document it deems necessary.
Once you have submitted all the documents and your file is complete, Hydro-Québec will review your application for financial assistance in order to:
If the work is found to be non-compliant with the request for payment submitted, the project will be reassessed.
Hydro-Québec may request that you submit an original invoice for the approved amount and including both taxes. This invoice must be issued through your accounting system and include an invoice number. The invoice must be send via e-mail to VPCConversionalelectricite@hydro.qc.ca.
Hydro-Québec will run a credit check and then pay you the financial assistance.
