The economic development rate applies to customers who undertake to build and commission a new facility with a power demand of at least 1,000 kW or to add at least 1,000 kW of demand to an existing facility.
If you wish to run in one or more units of new equipment or are about to commission a new plant, your power demand may rise temporarily. With the running-in option, you are temporarily exempted from some rate conditions applicable to power billing.
If you have to run short tests before putting new equipment into service, your power demand may rise temporarily. With this option, you don’t have to pay for the resulting increase in your power demand during the testing period.
This option allows you to use, in Hydro-Québec’s off-peak hours, a small amount of electricity beyond your regular consumption at Rate L or LG to fulfill a short-term order or meet an exceptional need.
