Québec's vast water resources, coupled with our own extensive, state-of-the-art power system, guarantee
a stable supply of low-cost power.

A heritage pool of 165 TWh of electricity at a known
fixed cost has been set aside for Québec customers.

We are committed to increasing our generating capacity in order to meet future demand. We plan to invest
C$1.7 billion in hydroelectric projects by 2006.

Hydro-Québec operates the world's largest hydroelectric complex—La Grande, in the James Bay region, with an installed capacity of 15,000 MW.

Ongoing improvement programs have been implemented at all our major operating facilities to ensure long-term operability.

To diversify our sources of supply, Hydro-Québec purchases electricity from independent power producers in Québec as well as on regional markets in northeastern North America.

Hydro-Québec's power system meets the quality and reliability criteria of the Northeast Power Coordinating Council (NPCC), which are among the most stringent in the world.

We are constantly maintaining and upgrading our system in order to improve service continuity and power quality.
