Châteauguay substation

In March 2011, Hydro-Québec will begin to refurbish the auxiliary systems at Châteauguay substation. This work is needed to maintain the quality of electrical transmission on Hydro-Québec's interconnected system. This project is part of the reliability and long-term operability program described in the company's Strategic Plan 2009–2013.

For this project, equipment and buildings within the confines of the substation will be replaced. In addition, a new storage building is needed, which will require the substation perimeter to be expanded slightly, within the limits of Hydro-Québec's property. Road traffic will increase during the civil engineering work, which will take place from March to December 2011.

Châteauguay substation is located on rang Saint-Laurent in the municipality of Saint-Étienne-de-Beauharnois.
