Massif-du-Sud

The 150-MW Massif-du-Sud wind farm is one of fifteen projects selected in Hydro-Québec's second call for tenders for the purchase of wind power.

The wind farm, operated by Saint-Laurent Énergies, will be built in the Bellechasse and Des Etchemins RCM municipalities of Saint-Luc-de-Bellechasse, Saint-Philémon, Notre-Dame-Auxiliatrice-de-Buckland and Saint-Magloire.

To bring the windfarm's output onto its transmission grid, Hydro-Québec must build a 120-kV line 25 km long between Saint-Luc-de-Bellechasse and Lac-Etchemin. The line will connect the wind farm to Hydro-Québec's Sainte-Germaine substation in the municipality of Lac-Etchemin.

Construction is planned for the first quarter of 2012, with commissioning in summer 2012.
