Part of the new 120/25-kV substation under construction in Mont-Tremblant, end of May 2009.
To meet fast-growing demand for electricity in the Mont-Tremblant area, Hydro-Québec TransÉnergie is currently building a 120/25-kV transformer substation in Mont-Tremblant. The new substation will be supplied by Grand-Brûlé source substation in the southern part of the municipality. A first line is being built from the source substation to a 120-kV line located just north of Highway 117. A second line, which is also under construction, to this existing line to supply the new Mont-Tremblant substation.
Construction work on the substation commenced at the end of August 2008, and work on the transmission lines began in May 2009. The new facilities must be in service by the end of 2009, helping to secure electricity supply for the 2009-2010 peak period.
When work has been completed, as is the case with all construction projects, Hydro-Québec will restore any property and road that may have been damaged by its operations.
Hydro-Québec thanks the individuals and organizations that participated in the consultation related to this project. The company does everything possible to ensure that the construction phase is conducted in a manner that respects both the members of the host community and the environment.
