230-kV line between Nicolet and Bécancour substations

The 230-kV lines connecting Nicolet substation, Bécancour substation and the switchyard of Gentilly-2 nuclear generating station do not have sufficient capacity to meet the expected growth in power needs in the Bécancour industrial park.

Hydro-Québec TransÉnergie therefore plans to rebuild these lines.

Construction should begin in summer 2010 for commissioning in summer 2011.
