Less paper, more info
In keeping with Hydro-Québec's effort to help protect the environment, your new residential bill still takes just one page, even though it contains more information than before! Even less paper is required if you have a Hydro-Québec Personal Page and you're signed up for Online Billing.
Your Hydro-Québec Personal Page also has a new look
Your Personal Page is your gateway to managing your electricity bills.

If you already have a Personal Page, your access code and password remain the same.

Some important reminders

Paying your first bill in 2008
When you pay your first bill in 2008, be sure to use your new account number (the 12-digit number beginning with 299).

Image: 12 digits, starting with 299.

Financial institutions have already been informed of the changeover to the new Customer Information System. However, you should check that your billing information is up-to-date as a precaution.

Authorized Payment and Online Payment
If you pay your bills by Authorized Payment or by Online Payment on the Hydro-Québec site, your account number will be changed automatically. The changeover to the new system will not have any affect on these modes of payment.

Payment due date and administration fees
As before, your bills must be settled within 21 days of the billing date.

Hydro-Québec considers your bill settled when we receive your payment. Please be sure to allow enough time for mail, bank or electronic processing. You may wish to contact your financial institution or Canada Post to find out how long it takes.

If your payment is late, administration fees will be applied at the rate in effect on the billing date, from that date until your payment is received.

Fees are also charged to your account if a payment (cheque, preauthorized debit or online payment) is refused by a financial institution.

Equalized Payments Plan
Consumption information including the fixed charge and the cost of kilowatthours (kWh) consumed in each rate tier is shown once a year, at the time of the annual review in August or September.

Your electricity consumption in kWh for each period is shown in the "Previous consumption" table. A more detailed statement of your monthly consumption is available on your Hydro-Québec Personal Page. To create your Personal Page, you will have to have your most recent 2008 bill on hand.
