Installation by a master electrician: Compliance and safety
Have new thermostats installed by a master electrician. Under the Québec Building Act, electrical equipment must be installed by a member of the Corporation des Maîtres Électriciens du Québec (CMEQ). Thermostat installation must comply with Chapter V, Electricity, of the Construction Code (load, conductor gauge, protective devices, etc.). To be covered by warranty, thermostats must also be installed according to the manufacturers’ technical specifications.
