Image : Replace your thermostats! Tired of ups and downs?

As the illustration shows, conventional or mechanical thermostats are far less precise than their electronic counterparts, causing fluctuations of some 2°C above and below the desired temperature.

Electronic thermostats solve this problem, plus they offer a number of other advantages. Let's compare!

  Conventional/mechanical thermostat     Electronic thermostat
Reacts mechanically to the air temperature     Continuous reading of the air temperature
Variation of ±2°C from the desired temperature     Variation of ±0.5°C from the desired temperature
Display is not exact     Displays exact air temperature
Frequent manual adjustment of thermostat     Maintains the desired temperature
Higher heating costs     Savings on heating costs – up to 10%

Program your thermostats for maximum savings!
You'll save even more if you turn down or program your electronic thermostats based on the recommended guidelines.

  2. Maximum per single-family house, condo or business establishment. For information on rebates for duplexes, triplexes, multi-unit buildings or seniors' residences, contact a CMEQ-certified electrician. Certain conditions (stated on the mail-in rebate coupon) apply.
