When you move, you are responsible for paying your electricity bills at your old address until you formally terminate your contract. It's important to let Hydro-Québec know as soon as you have your new address. The following deadlines apply:
  • At least 7 days before the move, for residential customers
  • At least 30 days before, for business customers
Are there any fees?

  • If there is a change of address or account holder for a customer who's had an account in Québec within the past 5 years: $20
  • If a new account (new customer) is created: $50
