Rénoclimat¹ is the new name of the program run by Québec's Agence de l'efficacité énergétique (AEE) to encourage energy-efficient renovation, especially of homes built more than 20 years ago, whether they are detached, semi-detached they use. Rénoclimat replaces the "EnerGuide for Houses" and "Energy Evaluation" programs in Québec.

Combining the provincial and federal programs under the
“Rénoclimat” banner has helped streamline procedures,
so that now just one energy evaluation carried out by an
accredited energy advisor gives you access to two grants:

• Hydro-Québec² grant;
• ecoENERGY retrofit – Homes³ grant from Natural Resources Canada.

2. Certain conditions apply. The homeowner must be eligible for the program and for the ecoENERGY Retrofit – Homes grant in order to be eligible for the Hydro-Québec grant. However, Hydro-Québec uses its own grant calculation method based on the gain in the energy efficiency rating. Consequently, it is possible to receive an ecoENERGY grant but no Hydro-Québec grant, and vice versa.
