To easily identify these products at your local retailer, look for electronic thermostat packages with the approved wording:
Consult the lists of products eligible for Hydro-Québec's rebate.
Eligible electronic thermostats, programmable or non-programmable, wall-mounted for use with electric baseboard heaters or convection heaters, or models built into convection heaters, comply with Hydro-Québec's energy efficiency requirements, based on the Canadian Standards Association's CAN/CSA-C828 standard.
Partner manufacturers
Hydro-Québec relies on its manufacturing partners to ensure that their electronic thermostats comply with the company's energy efficiency requirements, in connection with the ENERGY WISE program.
- For this purpose, manufacturers must submit an eligibility application to Hydro-Québec for each electronic thermostat model they wish to have approved, for inclusion in the ENERGY WISE Electronic Thermostat program.
- Of course, not all thermostats sold on the Québec market are subject to eligibility applications from manufacturers.
