KP 170 Weir

This weir is located 170 kilometres from the mouth of the Rupert River, at the outlet of Lake Nemiscau.

Objectives
  • Maintain the water level in the Nemiscau River.
  • Preserve the area used by dabbling and diving ducks during breeding season.
  • Protect hunting, fishing and trapping areas.
Movement of fish Natural impassable obsacle.
Approximate area of influence, going upstream 44.9 km in the Rupert River.
24 km in the Lemare River.
Date as of which the water level will be substantially maintained Late fall 2010.
