Hydro-Québec plays an active role in international efforts to research and monitor EMFs. Its specialists closely track knowledge on the possible effects of EMFs and the use of electrical equipment.

EMFs have been the subject of numerous scientific reports and publications over the years, both inside and outside the company.

In addition, we have an interpretation centre on EMFs, which is open to the public. Located on Montréal's South Shore, the Électrium enables visitors to discover various aspects of electricity.

Neurophysiological effects of magnetic fields on workers	Hydro-Québec, in cooperation with Électricité de France and the Lawson Health Research Institute (LHRI)	Study the possible effects of magnetic fields at the maximum intensities to which Hydro-Québec workers are exposed. Findings: No effect was observed on the physiological functions studied (trembling at rest and during movement).
Effects of electric fields on cutaneous tissue regeneration in the healing process	Hydro-Québec's research institute, in cooperation with the Centre hospitalier universitaire de Québec (LOEX)	Understand the biophysical interactions between electric fields and biological tissue, using a biological model that reproduces the healing of cutaneous wounds.
Evaluation of the magnetic field generated by the power system	Hydro-Québec	Evaluation of the magnetic field of power lines, transformer substations and generating stations. Findings: The intensities measured are below the thresholds recommended by the International Commission of Non-Ionizing Radiation Protection.
