Working with Communities

Concluding Agreements with Communities

As part of the cooperative relations it maintains with communities, Hydro-Québec enters into various types of agreements: partnering arrangements for its projects and operation of its facilities, agreements for the leasing of properties for community purposes and agreements under its Integrated Enhancement Program (IEP). The main objectives of these agreements are to:
  • harmonize Hydro-Québec's operations with the local community's activities
  • provide compensation for any inconvenience resulting from facility operation or project construction
  • enhance the company's facilities
  • reclaim residual materials produced by the company
  • promote community development

Altogether, 20 agreements were signed in 2007, including 11 agreements under the IEP.
