Hydro-Québec complies at all times with the Act respecting access to documents held by public bodies and the protection of personal information. Company employees may sometimes be asked for confidential information in a customer's file. The caller may be the customer's spouse, a representative of a service firm (accountant, lawyer, etc.) or any other party requiring the information.

However, only the customers themselves and duly authorized persons (holding a proxy or power of attorney) have access to personal and confidential information in customers' files. Before disclosing any confidential information, Hydro-Québec does the necessary checks to make sure it is speaking with a person who is entitled to obtain this information.
