Video: The Chamouchouane project in the Lanaudière and Laurentides regions
Welcome to the jobsite!
Construction site manager David Veilleux-Spénard takes us around the southern segment of the Chamouchouane project in the Lanaudière and Laurentides regions.
From Rawdon to Terrebonne, the new power transmission line will run along an existing line for over 150 km.
Up to 250 workers will be mobilized in late 2017 for this phase of the project. Each of the 115 towers represents a sizeable challenge of its own . . . Welcome to the jobsite!
Over the next few months in the Lanaudière region (sections 3, 4, 5 and 6 of the line)
The project is divided into a number of line sections, each with its own construction timeline.
Work is continuing in all regions, except for the area from Taureau reservoir to Saint-Zénon, where work on the line is completed and site restoration has begun.
Environmental compliance monitoring
There is a Hydro-Québec environment specialist on site at all times throughout clearing and construction work to make sure the particular mitigation measures defined by Hydro-Québec to protect the environment are carried out and environmental laws and regulations are obeyed. The specialist will also oversee site restoration once the work has been completed.
Safety near the worksite
Safety measures will be taken on the jobsite to ensure harmonious cohabitation with land users. Many crews will work at various locations along the planned line, even during weekends.
Hydro-Québec asks the public to exercise caution near the worksite.Project schedule and ongoing and future work
