Ongoing and future work

Cable-pulling has been completed for the whole project. Final rehabilitation has already begun at certain sites, which shows how well the project is progressing. This step consists of excavation, lowering the concrete cover and final paving at each underground chamber, of which there are 9 in all.

June-July 2015

Crews working on cable-pulling are still at work. Work is being done at the following sites :

June 29 to July 8: underground chamber on Boulevard Henri-Bourassa near 26e Rue.

July 13 to 23: underground chamber near hôpital Enfant-Jésus.

Possible impacts: Slower traffic. Appropriate traffic signs will be put in place.

May 2015

Work on Boulevard Henri Bourassa: Cable-pulling from an underground chamber on Boulevard Henri-Bourassa near Hôpital Enfant-Jésus. This work will be carried out between May 11 and 15.

Possible impact: Fewer traffic lanes.

Work on Boulevard Henri Bourassa: Splicing cables in the underground chambers near the Shell service station. This work will be done from May 19 to 29, from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. weekdays.

Possible impacts: Traffic reduced to one lane, parking not allowed near the worksite, sustained generator noise.

April 2015

Work on Boulevard Henri-Bourassa : Creating joints in the underground chambers near the Subaru garage. Work should be completed by April 17, at the latest.

Possible impact: slower traffic.

March 2015

Work near Avenue du Colisée: Snow removal and preparation of the work area near the underground chamber in Hydro-Québec’s right of way, ahead of joining work in the chamber. Work is expected to last three weeks in the area.

Work on Rue de la Sapinière-Dorion Est: Starting on March 23, our crews will carry out the same type of work in the underground chamber on Rue de la Sapinière-Dorion Est. Work will last three weeks.

Possible impacts: heavy vehicles, slower traffic. For residents of Rue de la Sapinière-Dorion Est, driveways near the work site will be inaccessible.

January-February 2015

Work will be interrupted until March, when our crews will install cable joints.

From mid-November to the beginning of December 2014

Pulling cables from the underground chamber on the western side of Boulevard Henri-Bourassa.

Possible impacts: Equipment on-site for two weeks (crane, cable reel, heavy vehicles), slower traffic.

From early November until mid-November 2014

Civil work on the eastern side of Boulevard Henri-Bourassa, including excavation, laying of conduits, concreting and backfilling. An underground chamber will also be installed in the first week of November.

Possible impacts: slowed traffic and presence of heavy machinery.

Pulling cables from the underground chambers in the sector around Rue de la Sapinière-Dorion Est, Avenue Duval and Rue de la Concorde.

Possible impact: presence of heavy machinery (crane, cable reel, and cable pulling truck).

From mid- to late October 2014

Work on 41e Rue Est (installation of an underground chamber).

Impact: Eastbound traffic redirected onto Rue de la Sapinière-Dorion between 1re Avenue and 4e Avenue.

Note that the work on 1re Avenue is finished.

Work on Boulevard Henri-Bourassa southbound should be completed by mid-October. Our teams will then begin work on the northbound lanes.

End of September – mid-October 2014

Work on 41e Rue Est (installation of an underground chamber).

Possible impacts: slower traffic and presence of heavy vehicles.

Civil work on the east side of Boulevard Henri-Bourassa, including excavation, laying ducts, concreting and backfilling. An underground chamber will be installed.

Possible impacts: Partial diversion of the bike path and presence of heavy vehicles.

From early September to mid-September 2014

Continue work on 41e Rue towards 1re Avenue.

Possible impacts: slower traffic, use of heavy machinery.

Running two circuits under 1reAvenue. Work will be carried out in the evening to ease traffic flow./p>

Possible impact: only one lane open to traffic.

August – early September 2014

Continuation of civil work on Rue de la Concorde towards Avenue du Colisée.

Possible impacts: noise, trucks.

Removal of a joint bay on Rue des Cèdres and relocation to Avenue du Colisée on Hydro-Québec’s property.

Possible impacts: use of heavy machinery, trucks.

Early August 2014

Laying of the conduit system, section by section, in the streets and at the edge of the right-of-way along 41e Rue. The area will be backfilled as the work progresses. It will take approximately two weeks to complete the work for the 300-metre-long section.

Possible impacts: noise, trucks.

July 2014

Continuation of the civil work in the Boulevard Henri-Bourassa and Chemin de la Canardière portion carried out at the same time as the work by the city of Québec.

Possible impacts: noise, slower traffic, trucks.
