  • June 4, 2014 – Since the city of Québec was performing repair work on Boulevard Henri-Bourassa, Hydro-Québec took the opportunity to install its underground conduits.

  • July 14, 2014 – Concrete-encased conduit system located at the corner of Boulevard Henri-Bourassa and Rue de la Trinité. The cables will be inserted in the conduits when the scheduled electrical work is carried out in 2015.
  • July 14, 2014 – A specific study of the routes selected for the line’s two circuits helped determine the archaeological potential of the northern portion of the study area, which includes the Hydro-Québec line right-of-way that runs along 41e Rue. Archaeologists are currently conducting inventories in the area.
  • July 2014, 2014 – Excavation and concreting of the conduits on the Chemin de la Canardière. As shown in the photo, the businesses can be accessed at all times.
  • July 2014, 2014 – The route runs along public roads, namely Boulevard Henri-Bourassa on the west and Chemin de la Canardière, to Limoilou substation. Overview of the conduits in the area. The pavement will be restored in accordance with municipal bylaws.
  • August 18, 2014 – On August 18, Hydro-Québec met with the representatives of the users of the Sainte-Odile vegetable garden and the Sapinière-Dorion community garden to explain the nature of the work to be performed in the area. The company specified that the work will have no impact on users’ activities. The two lines are scheduled to be dismantled in 2017 and Hydro-Québec will attempt to minimize the impact on the properties. The representatives will be informed of the start date of the work.
  • August 18, 2014 – Overview of the excavation work on the Hydro-Québec property near rue de la Concorde.
  • August 18, 2014 – Work at the corner of rue de la Concorde and 41e Rue, on the edge of the right-of-way. Appropriate road signs have been installed.
  • August 18, 2014 – Overview of the work carried out simultaneously on 41e Rue and south of the Hydro-Québec property. The teams are excavating the trench, and laying and concreting the ducts.
  • August 18, 2014 – Underground chamber on a flatbed trailer. The chamber was removed from boulevard des Cèdres and taken to rue de la Concorde. Cables will be pulled and operated from the underground chambers. This is also where the cables are joined.
  • August 18, 2014 – Preparation of the trench for the underground chamber.
  • August 28, 2014 – Roadwork on 41e Rue. Sawing asphalt before excavation.

  • August 28, 2014 – Once excavation was complete, the teams proceeded with formwork. Once conduits are installed, they will be concreted, after which we will restore the road (asphalting).

  • August 28, 2014 – Transportation of an underground chamber base to its final location, on 41e Rue. To date, 4 chambers out of 11 have been installed.
  • September 9, 2014 – Work on the first section of Rue de la Concorde and 41e Rue has been completed. The trench has been filled and the road has been repaved.
  • September 9, 2014 – Our teams are now at work on the crossing of Autoroute Laurentienne. The circuits leaving Québec substation (photo) and the underground crossing share the same route. The highway is crossed near Rue des Lilas Ouest, and the two circuits diverge under Rue de la Concorde.
