The energy transition
The term “energy transition” refers to the gradual replacement of energy produced from fossil fuels with renewable energy sources. It also refers to the changes in behavior required to foster an energy efficient culture.
For off-grid systems, the energy transition consists of re-examining the means used to generate power and seeking to reduce hydrocarbon reliance by lowering fuel consumption and incorporating more renewables.
The subtopics below will be addressed during the conference:
- Optimizing existing equipment and facilities
- The potential represented by renewable energy sources
- The challenges to integrating renewables into off-grid systems
