From the power plant to the home

The ship brings diesel oil to the village. The diesel is then transferred to tanks and it is later loaded onto the truck that will take it to the power plant. There it is used to produce the electricity that is carried along the power lines to homes.

The power plant is located in your village. It uses diesel fuel to generate the electricity needed in your home. So whenever you turn on the lights or use an electrical outlet, the power plant has to work to supply electricity.

Unfortunately, diesel power plants cause pollution. By reducing your energy consumption, the power plant will work less and pollute less.

Protecting the environment together

If we work together to reduce energy consumption, the power plant will have to burn less diesel fuel, which will help protect the environment.

Ways to save energy

Avoid using electric space heaters in the entrance and in the shed.

Turn the lights off in all empty rooms.

Turn off electronics and the television when they’re not in use.

Turn off outdoor lights before going to bed.

Use the microwave to reheat food.
