The Nemiscau-2 dam closes the tailbay in the south branch of the Rivière Nemescau.

Instream flow release structure
The Nemiscau-2 instream flow release structure is built of concrete and abuts the right end of the dam. It will maintain the mean flow in the Rivière Nemescau.
It is designed to restore a flow of 0.8 m3/s (minimum instream flow) to 6 m3/s into the lower Rivière Nemiscau.
