To meet the growing demand for electricity, Hydro-Québec must build generating stations, substations and lines and maximize output from its existing facilities. The company also carries out many projects to ensure the reliability and long-term operability of its facilities.
In 2008 alone, Hydro-Québec Équipement carried out $2.4 billion in work across Québec. From environmental and engineering studies to public consultations, construction and mitigation measures, every project meets strict criteria for profitability, environmental respect and social acceptance.
