This document titled Characteristics and target values of the voltage supplied by the Hydro-Québec medium and low voltage systems is partly based on electrical-supply practices recommended by national and international standards; it also addresses the characteristics particular to Hydro-Québec's system.

More specifically, it outlines the main phenomena that can affect power quality. These include short interruptions, frequency variations, temporary overvoltages, dips, voltage fluctuations and unbalances, flicker and harmonics, which are all defined in the document.
