Hydro-Québec plans to build a new 230/25-kV substation and two 230-kV supply lines to replace 69/25-kV Bourdais substation in Saint-Tite and its two supply lines (circuits 671 and 672). The planned 230/25-kV Mékinac substation will be connected to two of the four 230-kV transmission lines that run through the area.
Once all loads have been transferred to Mékinac substation, Hydro-Québec will dismantle Bourdais substation and the supply lines, circuit 671 (27 km) and circuit 672 (21 km), that connect it to Turcotte substation in Shawinigan.
The project will:
- Help ensure the continued reliability of the power supply
- Optimize the integration of the new equipment in the landscape
- Dismantle nearly 48 km of lines on wooden H-frames.
