Business

Not enough hours in the day to manage all your invoices, including your electricity bill? That is just one of the many reasons to authorize a third party to manage your account.

As the person responsible for your company’s electricity service contract or as the account manager, you can go to your Customer Space and designate a third party—an administrative assistant, an accountant or a company—to access your account details (consent) or act on your behalf in dealings with Hydro-Québec (proxy).

Designate an authorized representative in just a few simple steps

Go to your Customer Space, select the type of authorization (proxy or consent) and specify the powers you are granting the individual or company (obtain information, manage your account, update the details in your customer file, notify Hydro-Québec of a move, etc.) and the expiry date of the authorization.

You will then receive a confirmation of authorization. The individual or company you designated will also receive one.

If you are the person responsible for an electricity service contract

Follow these steps to designate an authorized individual or company or to manage your current authorizations:

  • Step 1 – Go to your Customer Space. If you have only one account, go to step 2.
If you have several accounts, click on the account for which you would like to designate an authorized individual or company.
  • Step 2 – Go to the Billing tab and click on Proxy or consent.
  • Step 3 – Click on Add an authorization (proxy or consent).
  • Step 4 – Designate an authorized individual or company. Enter the required information and click Send.
  • Step 5 – See the result!

If you are a representative duly authorized by proxy

Go to your Customer Space for the details of your authorization.

  • Step 1 – In the My accounts list, click on the three dots to the right of the account name and select See details.
  • Step 2 – See the details of your authorization (expiry and powers).

Note: If you are a designated representative authorized by consent, you may only obtain information on the account. You will not be able to access it through your Customer Space.

Don’t have a Customer Space yet? Now’s the time to create one! If you prefer not to create one, you can designate an authorized representative by contacting customer services or by requesting an authorization form by mail.
