Innovation Projects - AVENUES
All innovation project proposals received by Hydro-Québec are assessed by an external committee on the criteria described below:
Concept
The committee evaluates the proposed measure for innovativeness, soundness and marketplace viability. The marketing, sales and customer service strategies are also considered.The committee assesses the potential for deployment across Québec, and how quickly that could be accomplished.
Costs
The committee evaluates the innovation project based on the cost of each phase or activity. This includes the cost of the energy-saving measure as well as administration, management and customer service costs.
The soundness of the overall cost structure is also assessed. In addition, the committee looks at any revenues anticipated from the project.
Energy savings
This criterion covers the innovation project's overall savings potential along with the efficiency gain and service life for each individual application.Potential energy savings resulting from province-wide implementation of the measure are also taken into account, as are the environmental impacts.
Qualifications and experience
The committee assesses the qualifications and experience of the applicant, project team, partners and suppliers involved in developing and carrying out the pilot project. More specifically, the committee examines the relevant experience of the person in charge of the project and of key personnel, as well as their knowledge in marketing and project management and their expertise in spheres directly related to the innovation project. The committee also looks at the credentials of the applicant's business and financial partners, along with the soundness of the innovation project's organizational structure.
Overall quality
The clarity, precision and methodology of the proposal and the overall quality of the innovation project are considered.
