Niskamoon Company – Technical and Environmental Committee
Composition Mandate
(Chapter 8 of the Nadoshtin Agreement)
Activities
Four members, including two appointed by Hydro-Québec
Assist the Niskamoon Company in studying, planning, assessing and implementing measures related to its mandate
Assist the Cree tallymen and trappers
Coordinate and carry out the lake sturgeon study and management programs (jointly with the Niskamoon Company)
Ensure Cree participation in the specific environmental surveys
Inform the Niskamoon Company and the Cree communities about environmental and other activities
Beginning of activities: June 14, 2002
Activity 1: discuss all SEBJ and Hydro-Québec specifications for environmental studies relating to the Eastmain-1 project
Activity 2: discuss draft versions of the mitigation measures to be implemented for aquatic wildlife, lake sturgeon, land animals and birds, as well as for land use and the land-clearing plan

Weh-Sees Indohoun Corporation
Mandate Activities
Manage resources (fish and other animals) to promote their conservation
Control access to resources during construction
Act as Hydro-Québec's agent in carrying out the measures and programs included in Schedule of the Nadoshtin Agreement
Create an ad hoc committee (Hydro-Québec, FAPAQ and Crees)
Designate two special hunting and fishing areas: the Eastmain sector and the Weh-Sees Indohoun sector
Wildlife management plan:
- Eastmain sector: moose hunting prohibited
- Weh-Sees Indohoun sector: bow hunting abolished, firearm hunting restricted to male animals and season shortened by one week
- Weh-Sees Indohoun sector: theoretical fishing quotas for lakes larger than 2 ha or located less than 500 m from a road
