Title: Working at Eastmain-1

Our life at the jobsite

Since the middle of the 1970s, nearly one hundred thousand Quebecers have worked at one or more of the James Bay jobsites, contributing to the construction of the hydroelectric projects.

The schedule for the majority: 10 hours a day, 6 days a week. Some even work nights.

For construction workers: 42 or more workdays followed by a 10-day leave.

For workers in unregulated trades: an average of 35 workdays on the jobsite followed an 8-day leave.
