Grant for Existing Houses Your Grant
The difference between the two EnerGuide ratings
The Hydro-Québec grant depends on your home's energy efficiency gain, that is, the difference between the EnerGuide ratings before and after the retrofits.
To be eligible for the grant, the retrofits must have significantly improved the EnerGuide rating.
The higher the pre-retrofit EnerGuide rating, the higher the amount paid per point, because it is harder to improve the efficiency energy of the house, and vice versa.

The grant does not apply to ...
The Hydro-Québec grant does not apply to any energy efficiency gain resulting from conversion of a heating system from one energy source to another, or due to an improvement in the efficiency of a fuel-based heating system. If your EnerGuide rating goes up as a result of one of these factors, Hydro-Québec will reduce your grant accordingly.
