Recommended temperature settings
Maximize your savings by setting or programming your thermostats to these temperatures:
Daytime or evening
- 17°C if you’re out
- 20°C if you’re home
Nighttime
- 17 °C whether you’re home or not
The Québec Building Act requires that thermostats be installed by a master electrician accredited by the Corporation des maîtres électriciens du Québec (CMEQ). Consult the directory of CMEQ members.
An electronic thermostat reacts very quickly to tiny changes in temperature (±0.5°C), unlike conventional models (±2°C). So your indoor temperature is always comfortable, no matter what it’s like outside. This is how it works:
- A sensor continually reads the ambient temperature.
- The thermostat controls the length of time your baseboard heaters are in operation.
- It keeps the temperature exactly where you want it.
- It displays a precise reading of the ambient temperature.
