A Novoclimat home: Save energy and money!

Novoclimat is an innovative concept that aims to promote comfortable, healthy, energy-efficient homes. Hydro-Québec is proud to support this initiative by offering a grant to accredited builders and manufacturers as well as to the purchasers of Novoclimat-certified houses.

Grants are paid per housing unit, to the person or company responsible for the project costs. Typically they cover more than 50% of additional costs associated with building to Novoclimat standards.

**  Duplex, triplex and multiplex buildings, multiple unit residential complexes and condominium buildings with 7 floors or less.

Eligibility

To be eligible for a Hydro-Québec grant under the Novoclimat Program, you must:

  • register your house plans with the Agence de l'efficacité énergétique, which will confirm your project's eligibility;
  • obtain a Novoclimat certificate

AEE support

  • Technical support for preparation of plans and specifications. Please note that in the case of residential buildings of up to seven storeys, whether private or social housing, the AEE must approve plans and estimates before work begins.
  • Technical support at the construction site
  • Analysis of construction techniques and methods (insulation and airtightness)
  • Any telephone assistance required
  • Blower door tests
  • Promotional materials for sales and publicity
  • Registering your company permanently on the AEE Web site
  • Simple procedure that won’t cause delays in your construction schedule
