Get a new fridge for $75 to $120 and save energy.

Participating households must pay $75, $95 or $120, based on the size of the fridge selected.

Refrigerators are under warranty, and any problems should be reported to the retailer.

To find out about the program's eligibility criteria, consult the maximum after-tax income table.

To obtain your maximum after-tax income, refer to your most recent federal notice of assessment (example (in French only) [PDF – 1.1 MB]) and substract the amount on line 420 from the amount on line 260. Or, consult your most recent claim slip from the Ministère de l'Emploi et de la Solidarité sociale.

Criteria for the old fridge

  • Made before 1996
  • Be your home's main refrigerator
  • Plugged in and running
  • Capacity of 10-25 cu. ft
  • Removable without difficulty or causing damage
  • Located at the address where the new fridge will be delivered

Some conditions may apply.

  • Most recent electricity bill.
  • Proof of household income, on your most recent federal notice of assessment (example (in French only) [PDF – 1.1 MB]) or your most recent Ministère de l’Emploi et de la Solidarité sociale claim slip.
  • Size of your current fridge (height, width, depth).
  • Your contribution amount, depending on the fridge size selected (cash or postal money order only).

Make sure you know the measurements of the space where your new fridge will go (height, width, depth).

The community organization will sort out the sales contract with you and will give you all necessary information about the delivery of your new fridge.

Be responsible for paying the electricity bill.
