Dam

Rupert dam—the project's main dam—is located 314 km from the mouth of the Rupert River and will divert part of the flow from the Rupert River northward.

Spillway

The spillway is located to the left of Rupert dam. In addition to discharging floodwater, it releases the instream flow and discharges any flows in excess of the maximum flow of 800 m3/s that is diverted to Eastmain 1 reservoir through the transfer tunnel.
