This weir is located 49 kilometres from the mouth of the Rupert River. It is upstream of the Bear Rapids and controls a stretch of river that ends at the Cat Rapids.

  • Maintain grass beds and wetted perimeter
  • Preserve the area used by Canada geese during spring migration
  • Maintain navigability
  • Protect hunting, fishing and trapping areas
