This weir is located 33 kilometres from the mouth of the Rupert River. It controls a stretch of river that ends upstream at the Bear Rapids. Kapeshi Eputupeyach Bay, an area of special ecological interest, is at the foot of these rapids.
Objectives
  • Maintain grass beds and wetted perimeter
  • Maintain navigability
  • Enhance Kapeshi Eputupeyach Bay
  • Protect hunting, fishing and trapping areas
