Adhering to the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Guidelines
Summary
The Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) is a long-term, international, multistakeholder initiative whose objective is to develop and distribute guidelines for voluntary reporting on sustainable development. These guidelines are designed for organizations that wish to disclose the economic, environmental and social dimensions associated with their operations, products and services. The GRI's approach helps to promote comparability, transparency and accountability among organizations of any size, irrespective of nationality or business sector.
Since 2001, Hydro-Québec has used the GRI guidelines to benchmark its performance in the area of sustainability.
In its Sustainability Report 2007, Hydro-Québec issued a self-declaration of Application Level B using the G3 guidelines and this self-declaration was checked by the GRI.
