Partnering with Communities

Consulting Local Communities

When Hydro-Québec carries out its projects—construction or refurbishment of hydroelectric developments, lines or substations—it ensures that all stakeholders concerned are involved. Accordingly, at all project stages, close relations with the host communities are maintained through various means.

Every year, many information and consultation activities are held in connection with Hydro-Québec projects.

Our discussion forums are been especially active in the case of major projects, for which we also conduct specific consultations of Aboriginal peoples, municipalities, regional development boards and other stakeholders.
