Hydro-Québec honors its commitments to society. Through donations and sponsorships, the company supports many organizations that work for the benefit of communities across Québec in various ways. In fact, we are the Québec company that contributes the most to United Way/Centraide.
- Donations: humanitarian aid, education, health. Examples: Institut de cardiologie de Québec, Regroupement des maisons de jeunes du Québec, Fondation les petits trésors, Centre hospitalier régional de Rimouski, Fondation Père Sablon.
- Sponsorships: science and culture, social and economic endeavors, environment and sustainable development, amateur sports. Examples: Québec Games, Festival d'été international de Québec, Mondial des cultures de Drummondville, Réseau québécois des CFER (young people's business and recycling training centres), Festival en chanson de Petite-Vallée, Orchestre symphonique du Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean.
We also encourage our employees to volunteer through the Employee Social Involvement Program (ESIP) in the following areas: humanitarian aid, education, culture, environment and amateur sports. A Hydro-Québec employee who volunteers for a non-profit organization may obtain financial assistance of up to $1,000 for the organization.
