A 360° video experience

The Daniel-Johnson dam, as if you were there!

Visit one of the most iconic hydropower facilities in Québec: Daniel-Johnson dam! Over 50 years ago, it was an incredible accomplishment to design and build the Manic-5 development. This impressive structure has helped us generate clean energy to power Québec and our neighbors since the late 1960s.

How to enjoy the 360° experience

Our video can be viewed in the YouTube app on your smart phone, tablet or computer or with a cardboard viewer or a virtual reality headset. We recommend a smart phone, however, or, for an even better experience, a headset or viewer.

If you’re going to use a smart phone or tablet, you need one with an accelerometer and a gyroscope that can track its movements and position. You’ll then be able to explore the video by moving your device around. The video is compatible with most recent models, whether iOS (iPhone) or Android. It will open in YouTube, so be sure to have the most recent version of the app.

If you’re going to watch on a computer, you need the latest version of Chrome, Opera, Firefox or Microsoft Edge. Use the mouse to move around and explore the video. For an even better experience, use a smart phone or tablet instead.

If you’re going to use a virtual reality headset or cardboard viewer, the experience will be even more immersive. You’ll need a phone with an accelerometer and a gyroscope, and the latest operating system, either Android or Apple iOS. Click on the glasses icon in the lower right corner to activate viewer mode.
