Every year, Hydro-Québec devotes part of its net income to donations and sponsorships chosen based on equitable criteria and their alignment with company values. With sustainability in mind, it encourages initiatives that support its role as a corporate citizen, maintain or improve community relations, or promote its strategic objectives, programs and services.

In order to choose between the many requests it receives, the company relies on a Donation and Sponsorship Policy and on fair selection criteria that reflect the company’s values. In 2016, donations and sponsorships totalled $17.6 million.

Activities in 2016

  • Hydro-Québec employees and pensioners raised $5.7 million for the 40th United Way/Centraide campaign, which supports organizations working to improve the quality of life for people in difficulty.
