Frequently asked questions
Will the road link be closed during the work?
During necessary inspections and other maintenance operations, we sometimes have to close the road link. Before travelling in the area, we encourage you to consult the City of La Tuque’s Info‑travaux website for information about local traffic disruptions.
We will have to close the road link more frequently during this project. In most cases, these closures will be partial, with alternating traffic in one direction and then the other. However, there will occasionally be complete closures. These will take place during the day, and it will be possible to travel on the road link in the morning and the evening. However, some work scheduled between fall 2027 and summer 2033 will require a complete closure for a longer period. The habits of the area’s vacationers will be considered when planning the closures. We will avoid busy periods.
Will access to the boat ramp be closed during the work?
The boat ramp located near the generating station will be accessible for the duration of the work.
Will the work result in changes to the water level?
The project will have no impact on water levels.
How much will Hydro‑Québec invest in the project?
We have assessed the investment required for this project at $1.25 billion. We’ll need several local subcontractors and we’ll work with community stakeholders to maximize local spinoffs. Want to know more? Consult our Economic spinoffs section.
Where will the workers find accommodation?
In an effort to maximize economic spinoffs for the area, we decided against installing a temporary camp. As a result, the workers will use available accommodation in La Tuque. Want to know more? Consult our Economic spinoffs section.
