Main impacts

  • A temporary increase in traffic is expected around worksites owing to heavy vehicles hauling materials back and forth.
  • The area will be obstructed for motorists, cyclists and pedestrians.
  • Certain areas will have restricted access while the work is under way.

Main mitigation measures

  • A plan to maintain traffic flow developed in collaboration with the stakeholders concerned will be implemented.
  • Road signs on the worksite and warning of work ahead. Secure corridors will be put in place for cyclists and pedestrians.
  • Uninterrupted access to residential and commercial buildings at all times.
  • Notices and signs in the event of the temporary closure of parking lots, gardens, parks, etc.
  • Worksite supervision to ensure that the work proceeds smoothly and safely and to ensure compliance with environmental standards.
  • Installation of fences to ensure pedestrian and cyclist safety and signalers on‑site.
  • Site restoration and clean-up will be done as each stage of the work is completed, except in winter.

Work schedule

The work will be carried out between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m., from Monday to Friday. It could happen on occasion that work needs to be done outside of these hours or on weekends to meet project deadlines or perform specific tasks.
